Baccalaureate Writing Competency Test

Alabama State University
The purpose of the Baccalaureate Writing Competency Test is to ascertain that ASU students are able to write with proficiency in their degree areas before they graduate. It calls for students to write a sophisticated essay on a topic from their academic discipline. The essay is graded on organization, support, and sentence skills. The BWCT must be taken in the Junior year after completing 63 semester hours.
