Committee Goals and Objectives

The subcommittee is charged with devising the means to discuss assessment topics as part of community conversations. Sample topics are:

  • values and beliefs regarding student learning goals and expected student achievement
  • values and beliefs regarding the role of faculty and student in teaching, learning and assessment within the context of the student centered research university
  • the assumptions behind the assessment movement
  • why faculty members should be engaged in assessment
  • what resources are available to do assessment
  • what rewards will there be for doing assessment
