Degree and Co-curricular Requirements

The Intergroup Dialogue course fulfills a variety of degree requirements and co-curricular requirements:
  Fraternity/Sorority Chapters
  Honors Program
  Resident Advisors
  Schools and Colleges:
    Architecture
    Arts and Sciences
    Education
    Engineering and Computer Science
    Human Services and Health Professions
    Information Studies
    Management
    Public Communications
    Visual and Performing Arts
     
Fraternity/Sorority Chapters:
  Students who are members of fraternity or sorority chapters may use the Intergroup Dialogue course (SOC/WSP 230) to satisfy the educational programming requirement in the category of Diversity or Chapter Choice.
     
Honors Program:
  Honors students may use the Intergroup Dialogue course (SOC/WSP 230) to satisfy:
     
Resident Advisors:
  Students who are Resident Advisors in the residence halls (starting in Fall 07) may use the Intergroup Dialogue course (SOC/WSP 230) to satisfy the staff development requirement for RAs.
     
Schools and Colleges:
  Students in particular schools and colleges may use the Intergroup Dialogue course, SOC/WSP 230, to satisfy degree requirements:
     
  Architecture:
  • as College of Arts and Sciences credits.
  • as an open elective-credit course.
     
  Arts and Sciences:
     
  Education:
  • social science requirements in the Liberal Arts Core for A&S/EDU duals.
  • the Critical Reflections requirements of the Liberal Arts Core.
  • the major for Inclusive Education majors or Social Studies majors who are majoring in Sociology.
  • social science requirements for Music Education and Art Education majors.
  • social science electives and A&S electives for Physical Education majors and Health and Exercise Science majors.
     
  Engineering and Computer Science:
  • toward the Social Science/Humanities Electives.
     
  Human Services and Health Professions:
  • social science requirements for students in Child and Family Studies, Health and Wellness, Coordinated Dietetics, Nutrition Science, Nutrition, Hospitality and Food Service Management, Sport Management, and the Nutrition and Hospitality double program of study.
  • the Critical Reflections requirement for students in Child and Family Studies, since the courses are officially on the Critical Reflections list in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • the Global Diversity requirement for students in Health and Wellness.
     
  Information Studies:
  • the Arts and Sciences Divisional Electives in Social Sciences.
  • as a General Elective.
     
  Management:
  • as Behavioral Studies requirements.
  • as Nonmanagement free electives.
